Guste is a junior researcher at NL-Lab working in the NWO-M project “Towards an animal turn in sociolinguistics: Understanding the dairy cow’s intraspecies and interspecies interactions” led by Prof. dr. Leonie Cornips. Her main tasks include research into embodied inter- and intraspecies interaction, training in animal interaction by conducting multispecies ethnography fieldwork among cows on (dairy) farms, systematizing fieldwork video-recordings in searchable databases, updating the project’s website, organizing an (inter)national workshop and promoting science communication with academic and non-academic audiences.

Guste holds a Research Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Groningen. Her research interests primarily include human-animal communication, embodied interaction (particularly relating to touch and voice modalities) and close relationships.
