Stjernholm is Associate professor at Østfold University College. She is a sociolinguist working in Østfold in the South Eastern part of Norway. Østfold is a former industrial area, and in her research Stjernholm has among other things investigated gender stereotyping in Østfold and Limburg. This spring she will continue her work on language and gender together with Leonie Cornips. Her special fields of interest are language and place, language culture and language and identity.
