Jules Rijssen

Jules Rijssen is an andragologist, working as a network collector at the heritage institution Imagine IC. From March to July 2022, he is also expert in residence cultural heritage and inclusivity at NL-Lab. During this period, he focuses on expanding the NL-Lab network, making it more inclusive, and thinking about and advising on diversity and cross-institutional research.

In his work as a heritage professional, Jules is concerned with issues surrounding the methods and ethics of participatory collecting, but also with ideas about intangible heritage and its multiple layers, polyphony in meaning giving and collecting practices, the biography and migration history of colonial objects, rituals and traditions, language , processes of sense of belonging.
